Depending on the type of nectar, honey can taste floral, fruity, nutty, earthy and even spicy!

Today, we introduce a premium honey harvested in Jirisan Mountain: Cherry Blossom Honey

As the name indicates, the nectar is derived from Cherry Blossom trees. Cherry blossoms bloom for a very short period - typically for only 1 month, from late-March to early-April.

Honeybees get busy and create a very limited supply of this delicious honey every year, which is then masterfully extracted by beehive master Kim Il Kwon. It's only produced in small batches every year.

So what does this honey taste like? Cherry Blossom Honey has a balanced sweetness, with a fruity and slightly floral note.

It pairs wonderfully with breakfast foods like cheese, greek yogurt and fruit.

Natural pure honey is filled with mineral and vitamins. But many large food brands “water-down” their honey with artificial sweeteners like sugar - to get more yield and lower prices.

In Korea, producers label their honey with a carbon isotope ratio score.

This score indicates the pureness of the honey. All-natural honey has a score that ranges low, from -23.5% to -33% (the lower the better).

Sugar - for reference - has a score in the high, -10% to -20% range.
